Repairer Dejan Kovač is doing repairs for 9 years now. In the meantime, he got much needed experiences with master repairers, all over the World.
Dejan has taught himself basics of repair while playing clarinet, because he has done all the small repairs by himself. Later, in 2002, he got deeper knowledge about secrets of clarinet at Leblanc in France, while basics of oboe he got in Loree Paris.
He still gets a lots of advices about oboe from his friend Bolha Miran, who plays oboe in symphony orchestra of RTV.
Later on he also got repairing lessons about saxophone by one of the most popular repairer in Paris - Mr. RV Martin. Dejan attended his lessons in 2003 and one year later he went there for additional improvements.
»RV taught me many things. He opened me his book of knowledge, which he is writing for 25 years now, and I had a privilege to read from this book and absorb its knowledge«, describes Dejan. They stayed in contact and are friends since then. The most important part is that you get knowledge from a friend.
He got basics of repairing flutes from Mr. Kaoru Noda, who is repairer at Murmats, when he worked in Freiburg. Dejan says that he was perfected at Sankyo in Sayama, Japan, where he saw each step of production how flutes are made. Most of the time he spent with master repairer Thoru Ihara, who revealed him every little secrets about flutes.
In March 2008 he opened nice repair shop in Domžale, where he can gladly help you with any problems you may have with your instrument.
Besides repairing he also likes to play clarinet in famous Mengeška godba, which member he is since 1991. »Music was and will be my companion - One way or another.«
